St. George Monastery

It consists of three stories The first one dates to the fifth century A.D. built by a group of hermits. between 12^th , 19^th and 20th centuries many parts were added to it. it has also a copy of the document of the Caliph Omar Ibn el-Khattab dating back to the fourteenth year of Hegira. There are many splendid ancient icons in the monastery.
